Transforming surplus food into high-quality meals for communities across the UK
1 December 2025
We’re celebrating two years of the Coronation Food Project, inspired by His Majesty, King Charles III Charitable Fund.

We’re pleased to share a new video highlighting our partnership with FareShare and Marks and Spencer as part of this incredible project.
Through this collaboration surplus ingredients are being transformed into bespoke, family-friendly meals created specifically for FareShare - including pizzas, curries, soups and breaded chicken that are reaching charities and community groups.
Delivering real impact - FareShare has redistributed the equivalent of 11.3 million meals through the Coronation Food Project.

The need for this work continues to grow:
1 in 5 people in the UK are currently experiencing food poverty;
7 billion meals worth of good food go to waste in the supply chain every year.
A key achievement of the project is the creation of Alliance Food Sourcing - a unique collaboration uniting major retailers and manufacturers to:
-
Pool surplus ingredients and manufacturing capacity;
-
Create cost-effective food products for redistribution;
-
Share best practice and drive innovation in surplus recovery.
We’re proud to play a part in this collective effort to ensure good food is received by the people who need it most.
