Britain’s biggest chicken processor is celebrating with one of its most loyal colleagues who has achieved an amazing 50-year milestone working at the same factory.

Gill Batten, a Hygiene operative on the night shift at the 2 Sisters factory in Willand, Cullompton, Devon, has celebrated her 50 years of service with a presentation of gifts from her colleagues. 

Joining in 1972, when the site was Lloyd Maunder, Gill has worked in most of the production areas.

Gill said: “I’ve seen many changes over the years. I really enjoy working at Willand, it’s a fantastic place to work and I have made so many friends over the years.”

Geoff Pugsley, site director, said: “Gill is a great colleague, a formidable character and is part of a team that is the backbone of the site. Thank you for your loyalty and dedication over the last 50 years.”
