Holland’s partners with FareShare

Proper Lancashire baker, Holland’s Pies has teamed up with FareShare, the UK’s biggest charity fighting hunger and food waste, to help distribute pies and puds across the North West to those in need.

Since the first lockdown began over a year ago, Holland’s Pies has been committed to supporting the community by donating thousands of pastry goods to foodbanks and charities.

FareShare provides the equivalent of two million meals a week, to people who struggle to get enough to eat. It redistributes good-to eat surplus food, through more than 11,000 charities and community groups, across the UK. Two-thirds of the people accessing FareShare food are children and families.

Leanne Holcroft, Brand Manager at Holland’s Pies, said: “Times have been tough, and we are keen to continue to support people and families across the North West by distributing our proper tasty pies and puds. By working with FareShare, we hope this gesture of goodwill continues to make a difference to someone’s week.”

Michael Shields, Commercial Manager at FareShare said: “Over the last year, the number of vulnerable people relying on food from FareShare has doubled from 1 million to 2 million. So, we’re pleased to have Holland’s Pies on board donating their pies and puds to our charity connections.”
