Two caring colleagues from Llangefni’s largest employer have set off on a journey of a lifetime to deliver generous donations to a shelter in Slovakia for Ukrainian refugees.

Donations from the 2 Sisters Food Group’s factory on the Industrial Estate Road is being driven to Camp Zilina in Slovakia by the extraordinary Stephanie Evans, Management Accountant, and Brendan Rothery, Production Operative.

Over the past few weeks, Stephanie and Brendan have organised collection points for donations made by 2 Sisters colleagues. Aldi UK in Old Colwyn, Lidl in Llangefni and parents from Babinogion Menai nursery have also made generous donations.

Stephanie said: “We have been overwhelmed with the response and support from the local community. We asked for donations ranging from child and baby items to medical supplies, sleeping bags and food.

“We are so proud of our colleagues, their families and the local community for showing such generosity and community spirit during these challenging times.

“We would like to offer a special thank you to our haulier Romac Logistics Ltd who made all this possible with the extremely generous donation of the van, petrol and shuttle costs.”

Anglesey MP Virginia Crosbie has also shown her support for Stephanie and Brendan and wished them well on their journey.
