Future of finance

18 April 2019

Our new graduate scheme- putting finance at the heart of the business.

It’s a really exciting time for 2 Sisters and our Finance function as they plan to invest in future colleagues by introducing a new three year finance graduate programme starting in September 2019.

Spearheaded by Dan Slater, Group financial controller, and Siobhan Baird, Group HR business partner, there will be three 12 month placements covering Management Accounting & Reporting, Business Partnering, Financial Planning & Analysis, Group Finance, Shared Services, Internal Audit and Tax & Treasury.

The graduates will have exposure to people at all different levels within the business, given real projects and be empowered to make real decisions.

With only seven positions up for grabs the recruitment team have shortlisted nearly 2000 applications down to 36 candidates who have been invited to assessment centres in May.

The scheme also offers up opportunities for colleagues across the business to get involved by becoming mentors, buddy’s, and using the graduates for support on projects.

Dan said: “I’m so excited that we’re able to offer young talented people an opportunity to build their careers with 2 Sisters.

“We have four superb finance graduates already in our business, Sam Reilly, Sam Phillips, Thomas Mottram and Arsalan Khan. All of them are fired up to support the selection process for the new intake. We’re trying to create a real sense of community so that they truly feel they belong to something bigger.”

Arsalan Khan, Group reporting systems accountant, said: “The graduate scheme at 2 Sisters has opened so many doors for me. It has enabled me to not only work for a market leader but has supported me through my studies and personal life.

“At 2 Sisters all my achievements big or small have been acknowledged and I have felt more of like a member of the 2 Sisters family rather than an employee.”
