Hannah is about to start studying for a degree-level apprenticeship. Hannah Seegelaar is a senior commercial manager at 2 Sisters Food Group and explains why she’s about to embark on an MBA.
What made you choose an apprenticeship with 2 Sisters?
I have always been keen to progress with 2 Sisters. I enjoy my job and I feel fortunate to have had mentors and managers that have encouraged me to continue my training, whether it be leadership or negotiation, and the MBA apprenticeship will allow me to really learn about the business and give something back.
How would you describe the culture of 2 Sisters?
Fast paced, challenging and demanding with a great sense of achievement, reward and ownership.
What do you think is the best thing about working for 2 Sisters?
Nothing is set in stone, you can find your own ways of working and improving. Development is available if you want it.
What is the most challenging thing about working for 2 Sisters?
Problem solving and business continuity management.
What are your prospects of progressing after your apprenticeship?
I hope to become a retail director in the near future and the apprenticeship will offer me the skills to progress.
What advice would you give to any young people considering a career here?
If you’re prepared to work hard, you can have a challenging albeit rewarding career with 2 Sisters. You need to be inventive, confident and relentless but this in turn will open up a lot of opportunities.
