100 moments to remember

6 April 2018

On Saturday 30th December, 2 Sisters David Peck embarked on his biggest challenge - to run every day for a minimum of three miles for 100 consecutive days with the final run being the prestigious Paris Marathon this Sunday.

In return for sponsorship he wanted to run in memory of loved ones who are no longer with us. Family and friends sent David a message with the name of the person and a small message so he could write this on a ‘love heart’ and pin it to his top on the day of his run.

The inbound supply manager who works across eight Meal Solutions sites set up a blog page and took a picture at the end of each run with the love heart(s) so that people could feel part of the challenge and get something in return for their pledge.

David, who is running on behalf of the Boparan Charitable Trust, said: “This challenge has pushed me physically and mentally more than anything I’ve ever done before but come day 100 and every step will have been worth it.”

“The memory runs have really resonated with everyone and I’ve been overwhelmed by the tremendous support especially friends wanting to join me on their passed loved ones memory run, which has been wonderful, emotional and very uplifting.”

“A big thank you to everyone that has generously donated.”

Holly Moulton, challenge event co-ordinator of the Trust, said: “David has incorporated his fundraising into his training. This has led to a deluge of requests, some of which have been heart-warming and heart-breaking in equal measures.”

“He has totally captured the imagination of his supporters and with a flurry of additional support, David could smash the £10,000 barrier. Go David!”
