2 Sisters
celebrates 20 years in Scunthorpe.
2
Sisters Food Group today marked
20 years of growth and success
at its Scunthorpe plant.
Amongst the changes that the
last two decades have hailed,
2 Sisters Scunthorpe today
has its own training facilities,
which deliver all kinds of
staff training alongside local
colleges, Kingsway Centre
and North East Lincs. College.
2 Sisters Chief Executive Officer,
Ranjit Singh, said “In
an industry notorious for
staff turn over, it is really
rewarding that some 15 per
cent of the original staff
are still with the company.
The past 20 years have seen
huge changes in the food industry
and I am proud of the way
that the site has continued
to develop and the way that
our staff has continued to
adapt. We see the celebration
not as looking back over the
past 20 years, but the start
of another two decades.”
Mabel Rumney, the Training
Coordinator and Auditor at
2 Sisters Scunthorpe, said
“2 Sisters and their
predecessors have always been
big supporters of training.
Scunthorpe was the first poultry
company to put in place NVQs
for factory and farm. During
the last 20 years over 4,000
factory employees have gained
NVQs.”
“We have worked closely
with the local colleges to
develop practical qualifications
that offer our employees an
opportunity to better themselves.
Every employee is an important
part of our company’s
future and we recognise the
importance of investment in
them.”
2 Sisters Scunthorpe has regularly
been recognised for its commitment
to skills training in the
workplace, including the first
ever Employer Ambassador Award
from Humberside Learning and
Skills Council.
Mr. Singh added “I’m
also delighted that we have
completed the refurbishment
of the canteen and staff facilities
before this special anniversary.
This was the first stage of
reinvestment and we have further
planed for the next year or
so.”
“Our aim is to continue
to grow by producing products
that are in line with market
demands and consumer trends.
We recognise that rising energy
and food costs have left all
customers with less money
in their pocket, so our short
term priority is to deliver
customers the best quality
chicken for the lowest possible
cost.”

about five million people
a week with fresh British
